Birdwatching in Combeima Valley
Ibagué is located on the eastern flank of the Cordillera Central, in the center of the department of Tolima, comprises an area of 149,800 hectares that stretch from the upper Magdalena valley to the east to the northwestern Tolima peak. The municipality hosts different life zones by the classification developed by Holdridge. From the tropical dry forest at 2,800 m.s.m. to the sub-Andean rainforest páramo area at approximately 5280 m.s. So that this large altitudinal gradient allows Ibague to have a great variety of climates and topographic aspects that generate a wide diversity of species.
