This wonderful park is part of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, home to the world's highest coastal mountain range. Just 42 kilometers beyond the coast, Pico Colón proudly rises to an altitude of 5,775 meters, an area where all thermal zones can be experienced, from tropical dry forest to perpetual snows. Furthermore, it is a refuge for pre-Columbian indigenous communities such as the Kogi, Arhuacos, Wiwa, and Kankuamo, descendants of the Tayronas.

Unique Experiences

Sunrises from your private terrace in an Ecohab, feeling the pure air of the Sierra Nevada. Immersion in nature without compromising conscious comfort.

How to get there

Travel Tips

Wear comfortable shoes for the trails and respect environmental closure periods for the park's healing.

Natural and Cultural Heritage

Discover the legacy of the ancestral cultures of the Sierra Nevada in this sacred territory. The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta is the world's highest coastal mountain and the ancestral home of indigenous descendants of the Tayrona ethnic group such as the Arhuacos, Wiwas, Kogis, and Kuankuamo. Respect their traditions and remember that you are a visitor in sacred lands.

This park boasts extraordinary beaches, rivers, dry forests, and Colombia's highest mountain. Within the magnificent mountain range are two peaks of 5,775 m altitude; Pico Cristóbal Colón and Pico Simón Bolívar. Due to its variety of ecosystems, thermal zones next to the sea, its unique beauty, and its rich history and culture, it constitutes a unique place to visit and was declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1979.
